As many of you know, I recently had surgery to remove my gallbladder. It’s hard to believe that this recital was less than 18 hours before my emergency surgery. I was invited to see my friend and her students perform at Lincoln High School’s latest dance performance. I had a great time, ate one too many cookies, and took a ton of photos. I worked a few edits when I got home and went to bed. At 4AM I woke up with extreme stomach and back pain. 3 hours later I was in urgent care and 4 hours after that, I was in the Emergency Room preparing for surgery.
To make a long story short, I’m 100% back to normal and am finally getting a chance to go through the rest of the dance images. I love how you can feel some of the emotions through these images. That’s only a reflection of the talented dancers.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon

My husband. Mom, and I went to support one of our best friends as he ran San jose’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon. It was really difficult to spot him out since there were more than 10k runners: It was dizzying at times. We had a great time and people seemed to enjoy our signs.

Pow Wow

This weekend marked the 24th annual West Valley Pow Wow. The photography department at my school had volunteered to photograph the event. Never attending a pow wow before, I decided to go check it out. Their intricate clothing and bold colors made for some great images. The day was filled with great food and dance competitions.

Endeavour

The space shuttle Endeavour recently flew over Moffett Field in San Jose as it made its way to it’s final destination in Los Angeles. I staked out a spot at at park less than one mile away from the airport. Luckily, the shuttle flew right over me!

Jackson’s Baptism | Event Photographer

I had the privilege of photographing my cousin’s baptism in New Jersey. I lucked out with a fantastic Priest who pretty much gave me free range of the church. The baptism was intimate and took place after mass. Only Jackson’s closest family and friends were present.
